What is Holistic, or Whole-Person Coaching?

At the highest level of coaching, everything is connected. You don’t live one life at work and another at home. You are one person moving through all of it. The happiest, most fulfilled and impactful people live in alignment across every area: work, health, relationships, money, and personal growth.

Holistic or whole-person coaching works with this reality. It’s not just about solving a single problem or hitting one goal. It’s about identifying what truly matters, understanding the connections between different parts of your life, and making intentional changes that create balance, energy, and momentum everywhere.

For example, rethinking how you structure your business may free the time and mental bandwidth to restore a strained marriage — and that restored relationship, in turn, may give you the stability and creativity to launch a new venture you’ve been postponing for years.

Or, developing a stronger leadership presence at the boardroom table may come from the same work that helps you set healthier boundaries with your adult children, leading to more trust and better communication in both worlds.

What’s the difference between the types of Coaching, and which is right for me?
People often search for life coach, executive coach, leadership coach, or business coach because those terms feel familiar. In truth, you don’t have to choose before we start — the outcomes you’re working toward will naturally guide where we focus.

At different points in our work, we may move seamlessly between all four. The core tools are the same, but the emphasis shifts to match your priorities in the moment. The labels are useful for describing the starting point, but the real value lies in a fluid, whole-person approach that adapts as your goals evolve.

Life Coaching can cover the broadest range of topics — relationships, health, career, money, purpose, personal growth. It’s about creating a life that works as a whole, not just in one domain. Many of my clients come for business or leadership goals but find that other areas of life inevitably play a role in achieving them.

Executive Coaching focuses on outcomes for an organization and is designed for those at the top — CEOs, board members, or senior executives leading complex systems where decisions have far-reaching impact. It’s leadership coaching at the highest level, with organizational stakes in mind.

Leadership Coaching helps leaders at any level become more effective — whether they’re managing a small team or a large department. The emphasis is on influence, communication, resilience, and creating an environment where others can thrive.

Business Coaching is for entrepreneurs and business owners who are balancing growth with sustainability. It often involves both strategic guidance for the business and personal support for the individual — because the health of the business and the wellbeing of its owner are deeply connected.

The truth is, most accomplished people don’t fit neatly into one category. A business owner might need executive‑level leadership skills. Many of my clients choose to have both coaching and therapy, using coaching as a central hub to help define and integrate other kinds of support when helpful.

What’s the difference between coaching, therapy, consulting, mentoring, and training/teaching/tutoring?
These approaches can complement each other. In my work, I draw from many of them. Professionally, I am a consultant, trainer/teacher/tutor, mentor, and coach, and, with your permission, may weave that experience in to our work. This flexibility means you’re not just hiring a coach; you’re gaining access to a broad toolkit, adapted to your context and goals. (I’m not a clinician/therapist; when therapy is appropriate, I’ll say so and help you integrate it thoughtfully.)

Many clients find that coaching and therapy together are highly complementary: therapy supports healing; coaching channels growth into aligned decisions and daily practice.

Consulting. Brings in an external expert to diagnose and do (or design) parts of the work for you/your organization. It often adds temporary capacity or specialized know‑how to solve a defined problem.

Mentoring. Guidance based on lived experience. A mentor says, “Here’s what worked for me (and why),” offers pattern recognition, and shortens learning curves. I use mentoring selectively, when a well‑timed perspective can save you cycles while still leaving decisions in your hands.

Training / Teaching / Tutoring. Structured skill transfer. This might look like learning a feedback model, a prioritization system, or a leadership conversation framework. We’ll switch into “training mode” when a specific tool or competency will unlock momentum, then move back into coaching to apply it in your real context.

What kind of commitment should I expect in terms of time, energy, and resources?

Clients arrive with different levels of time, energy, and focus — and part of my role is to help create the space needed for the work ahead. I believe great coaching works best when it is highly tailored to the individual, so we start from your current reality and build toward the life, leadership, or business you want to create.

The cadence of sessions and the length of engagement depend on the outcomes you’re aiming for. It’s common to begin with a six-month agreement, with primary sessions every two weeks and built-in support between sessions. Many clients connect with me regularly outside our scheduled calls to stay clear, supported, and in momentum — maintaining accountability and progress. This rhythm not only drives strong results, it also helps clients develop skills they can use in every part of life: self-support, clear communication, and a renewed belief in what they’re capable of.

One of the powerful side effects of coaching is that, through the process itself, you learn to support yourself better and support others more effectively. You discover new ways to communicate, to think creatively, and to take action that aligns with your values. Many of my clients work with me far beyond the initial commitment, often for years, because growth becomes their norm and they continue setting bigger, more inspiring goals.

And while many choose to stay, you’re never locked in. As an ICF-accredited coach, I follow a strict code of ethics — including that coaching is always at will. How often do we meet, and for how long?

The rhythm of our sessions is tailored to your goals, pace, and priorities. While some clients choose to meet more frequently, most find that biweekly sessions strike the ideal balance — close enough to maintain momentum, and with enough space to put new ideas into action. If life gets in the way between sessions, that’s often when the most important work happens: identifying what blocked progress, and removing those barriers for the future.

We start with a six-month engagement, though many clients work with me much longer as growth becomes a natural part of their life. Sessions are a minimum of 60 minutes, and I also offer extended intensives for deep strategic work or creative breakthroughs. Between sessions, you’ll have direct access to me for check-ins, troubleshooting, and support — and yes, if extra sessions are needed, we make that happen.

This is high-touch, high-impact coaching. The schedule we set will keep you focused, accountable, and moving forward — without ever losing sight of the bigger picture you’re working toward.
What are your fees — and how should I think about ROI/value?

Because this is highly tailored work, fees vary depending on the nature of the engagement. Some clients fund their own coaching, others have their business or employer invest in their development. Each arrangement comes with different expectations, goals, and ways of measuring success, and we design the work accordingly.

We’ll discuss fees openly in our first conversation so you have complete clarity before making any decision. Everything is agreed and documented at the start, and the scope remains transparent throughout.

While the value of this work is not always measured in financial terms, many clients set tangible business or financial goals alongside personal ones. Independent research — including an International Coaching Federation study by PriceWaterhouseCoopers — found that organizational coaching yields an average return of nearly 700%.

Where do sessions happen? Do you work internationally and in different time zones?

Many of my clients live busy, often international lives — traveling frequently or working across borders. I do the same, splitting my time between Southern California, Central Europe, and the UK. This means we can often connect not only virtually but, when it works for you, in person in those places and spaces.

Whether you’re a professional balancing a global life, a creative collaborating across continents, or an executive leading international teams, I make scheduling simple. I regularly coach across multiple time zones and use flexible tools to keep communication easy and reliable.

Most of my clients work with me virtually, by video or phone, because it allows us to maintain momentum wherever you are in the world. For some engagements, we also design in-person intensives for deep, focused work in a single session or series of days.

What experience and credentials do you bring to your coaching?
Great coaching rests on three pillars: deep professional training, extensive real-world experience across multiple cultures, industries, and challenges, and years of proven coaching practice.

Over more than a decade, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients—leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and creatives—through thousands of coaching hours. Below is an outline of the career, life experience, and professional accreditation that inform my coaching practice.

Government & Corporate Structure. I spent six years within British government across procurement (process design, compliance, legal frameworks, contract governance), engineering (redesigning systems, managing contracts, and delivering large-scale civil projects), and IT (leading projects that handled highly sensitive information). My role often required acting as a translator between very different disciplines, such as IT and engineering, or procurement and social care, bringing diverse teams, personalities, and priorities into cohesive, high-performing collaborations. This taught me to design processes that work in the real world, communicate with precision, and deliver results under political, organizational, and time constraints, all while maintaining discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.

Entrepreneur & CEO. I’ve founded and led businesses for most of my adult life—from a live-entertainment company to advisory and coaching firms—and serve as CEO of Leading Global Change (a small, values-driven organisation). That firsthand experience of P&L, people, growth, and exit strategy informs my work with founders and owners.

International Perspective. I’m a dual UK–US citizen and have lived between the UK, Central Europe, New York, and Southern California. Many clients lead global lives; I understand the reality of competing priorities across cultures, time zones, and identities, and help them design a life that works as a whole.
